6.30.10

How about a visit into my wish list again. I keep adding to it. There are many holidays approaching appropriate for gift giving (like the 4th of July, Duh!) so I figured why wait for my birthday which is a mere year away...so here goes....
The Ordinal Dresser. Anthologie. $998.00

Misguided Angel Top. Etsy. I think it was $42. I favorited it, intending to buy it but some other lucky chick beat me to it....damn!

Gyllen Wall Lamp. Ikea. 39.99 These come in different styles but I liked the letter one best!

The Chirp Bag. Etsy. Once again I favorited this one, intending to purchase it. It is gone but I believe this is a regular item that she has...I love the quirky-ness of it!

Last but not least...I have no idea what I would do with it but isn't it just cute. It reminds me if the squirrel we have at home that watches and taunts our puppies....It is from One Kings Lane. $25.00 sold out this morning!!

I am going to crawl under a rock. I am NOT going to tell anyone which rock. I will rest.
Well, it can't happen this week, but maybe next...we'll see if I can find a rock to my liking.
Do I have to take the fam with?
How about the hubby? Maybe I will just take my hot maintenance man!
'Till tomorrow....

6.24.10

Big Daddy got the Mack Daddy Grill for a combined birthday/fathers day gift. We definately need a grill cover for it, ya know, to keep it shiney and sparkley, because guys like the look of chrome. As you can tell, it has rained once or twice since we got it...No cover, lots of spots....
On another note...another sad and tragic day at our home....we had a bad storm last week and the gnomes were no where to be found...until last night. Henry has suffered the same horrible fate as Edward and has lost a leg. He will have to be mended. And I fear, there is no saving Norman. He was crushed by a fallen water pump. Edward had learned his lesson and his life and newly repaired leg was spared.

I am off to find more gnomes to care for the garden....they definately will be running in the opposite direction once word gets out about our garden.

My Miss Whitney is 16. Born on June 23 at 6:23 pm. Lucky girl.
Happy birthday girlee!!

Breakfast

What I like most about my day is the morning. When I wake up and no one else has pulled their big 'ol butts out of bed and I get to enjoy my coffee, newspaper (because if you know me, NO ONE touches the paper before I do...I have a terrible case of OCD), and pop tart with no interruptions from whiny kids and a horny husband... oh, come on, we have all been there, don't go gasping at that...it's a morning thing for all men...
All alone and quiet-ness surrounding me....oh and my new buddy...Tylor keeps feeding him although I don't believe she has named him yet. He especially likes strawberries and carrots. He has become pretty tame around her when she comes around. As long as Mr. Bunny stays out of my new lettuce heads...he can enjoy my coffee with me...in my peace and quiet.

Photo Ops from our busy weekend...

A few randoms from the weekend...a blast!

More Pictures from the weekend!

Weekend Update: Thursday night we were at the Carrie Underwood Concert. A Great show!! Although we had pretty crappy seats...which I probably will never hear the end of...it was a good time. I didn't bring my mack daddy camera because if I did, the underage drinkers behind us surely would have dumped their booze all over me. So the pics I got are from the cam I keep in my purse. My pretty simple Nikon Coolpix...

Friday Miss Whit and Miss Tylor had their birthday parties. We rented a princess bounce house. Tylor told me it was the best birthday evah! Ya, I am awesome. The kids loved it. I think the teenagers seemed to enjoy it more than they let on.

I have wanted a Nook from Barnes & Noble ever since they came out. How cool are they. I could take my whole library of books with me because ya never know when you will be just waiting around with nothing to do. Ya, right...I wish I had time on my hands. So with my birthday money combined with my son...He got me one for my birthday! Yeah!!

6.16.10

Yesterday was the big day...WOOHOO...yes, I am now 29!! (plus 6). So much excitement throughout the day. Work in the AM followed closely by Grandma Becky's crash. It only proves that you should not let kids drive with cell phones yet again. Back to work after the ER...Then home to find this....My kids made me a cake..I know, special huh? Before I get to the cake, let me tell you about the kitchen. Frosting on everything. I didn't even touch anything in the first 2 minutes after I had walked through the door and yet I had frosting on me, my clothes and my shoes. It was running down the oven door, the stove top was covered with it. The dogs were chasing each other, high on all the frosting that had fallen on the floor. Dishes were everywhere, I think they used every bowl in the house for one cake mix. Don't ask, I have no idea... Onto the cake. Apparently, it blew up or something. They attempted to put it back together using, you guessed it, frosting as glue.
It made my heart happy..the thought and all...BUT...I made them clean up all of the mess before they left the house. Then Nate walked in the door with this....

WTF?!!! Don't they talk to each other. I mean, we all live in the same house. They must have all thought that I needed all that cake. Busy later???? No?? Stop on by for some birthday cake. I cannot, however, guarantee that the first never seen the floor before it was glued back together.

Meet Henry

And Norman....

Our gnomes lived a happy life in our garden until one tragic day...
'Oh no, the Mister did it again! I hope the Misses didn't see that'
But you see, the Misses did. She, indeed, had seen the whole 'incident'
on that fateful day.

Edward had been sunning himself on the patio when the Mister came by and KICKED him! He went hurling through the air and broke his little ol' leg. Mister said 'he jumped out in front of me, I was carrying a damn 2x6 and he just ran out in front of me' and then he proceeded to laugh! Can you believe it?!??

A sad and tragic day...

Miss Tylor had her very first softball game this past Thursday evening. Yes, I am a few days behind..her fear was that she wasn't going to be able to hit the ball. She was wrong! All of the girls can really hit a ball. Tylor did so well. She did have a spill and fell on her wrist. All I could think was Great, she broke her little arm during her first softball game but she didn't. Just a sprain. Now she is good to go. A few pics from her game. Don't ask me what the score was because I was just too excited watching that I didn't keep track. Besides, right now it is all about having fun, right?

Please say a prayer for the family of Ginny...a very sick baby girl in Gainesville Florida. You can keep track of her progress through the blog that her daddy created.

I have a bit of 'It's all about me' attitude today so I thought I would show you a few things on my birthday wishlist. Next week. June 15th. Just in case you were wondering. The items below are from Anthroplogie. Totally my kind of store. Good thing for Nate we don't have one anywhere near us.
The Upsy Daisy Mug...Too cute not to have...$10.00...yep, I ordered it....
The Vintage Camera Photo Album. Holds 4x6 photos. $10.00. Hello, I am a photographer and yes, I totally need it. SOOO, I ordered it!
Pressed Flower Hook...I think I may need a couple of these...$14.00
The MagPie Chandelier...So Pretty..I would totally change my whole decorting scheme to have this hang in my house! And for the low, low price of $4800.00, why not??
This one is my absolute fave...priced at $248.00...once again.....you guessed it....LOVE it!! What, Did you think I was going to say...'Yep, bought that too'...Nate would kill me. He would stuff me in a barrel and throw me over the bridge!
Feeling generous???? Next week. June 15. My birthday. In case I forgot to mention it...

Wednesday, June 9, 2010

Do you ever end up with a coffee table piled high with all of your crap? Sometimes at the end of the week, I sit and wonder how my piles got so high. IF you are in the mood and feeling generous, my birthday is next week and I would totally LOVE one of these!! Pretty Please with TWO cherries on top??

June 8, 2010

Tylor says to me the other day..."hey mom, we sure do have alot of raspberries growin' this year." I guess I hadn't checked to see just how many there were until later. And yes, we do have quite a few. We started with 4 shoots and now have a whole lotta. Technical term there. Strawberries are coming along as well. Tylor also planted some lettuce in my flower beds this year and she also planted some bush pickles in a big 'ol pot. She picks out something every year and it just happens to be a veggie of some sort. Last year it was red peppers. She wouldn't touch them after they were ready so the kids put them in a sling shot. She said she will eat the lettuce. I am not too convinced she will eat the cukes.

June 7, 2010

Random conversation (that took place November of 2009) that led to events surrounding the photos below.
Me: Hey, Nate. Don't you think we should take down the canopy on the gazebo before it snows?
Nate: I will get to it next weekend, I am too tired to do it now.
Me: Are you sure?
Nate: Ya, it's too early to get any snow.
Me: Okie Dokie....(I was totally giggling inside...hoping I would get a new gazebo in the spring anyway. Kinda like when you hear it is going to hail and you park your car in the most wide open space hoping for baseball size hail stones to rain down on your car because you totally want a new one...)
Two day later
Nate: So, Have you been outside yet?
Me: No...(giggling in my head had begun again...It's frickin' 7:30 AM, are you kidding me?! I looked out the window and knew how much snow had fallen. I WAS NOT going to let the dogs out. They could wait for you to get home.)...why? (playing dumb)
Nate: I guess I should have taken down the gazebo last weekend.
SO yes, the gazebo collapsed into a hefty pile of twisted metal and snow.
Fast forward to 2 weeks before Memorial Day weekend. Sitting in the hot sun on a cement patio with NO shade.
Me: Sure would be nice to have that gazebo about now...HUH?!?
Nate: Shutup.
Memorial Day weekend we spent shopping for wood, screws, and a whole lotta canvas. Because Nate says "If we are going to put anything there, it is going to be permanent." Nuff said.
The Before and after pictures. And what is really nice...I can slide the canvas to one side or the other. Notice it is hanging lower on one side...to block the sun when it is coming through that side. Ya, I. Am. A. GENIUS. Nuff said.

Don't you feel like this some days, like everything and everyone is pulling you in every direction imaginable. A Big, Green Monster...that is me today...all I have to say is, 'What Next?' TGIF!

Miss Whitney arrived safely in Nashville this morning. Didn't get but a couple hours of sleep on the bus. Glad I am not the one bunking with a bunch of sleep-deprived, pms-ing teenage girls. I bet they all turn into the Big, Green Monster before nightfall!
