June 7, 2010

Random conversation (that took place November of 2009) that led to events surrounding the photos below.
Me: Hey, Nate. Don't you think we should take down the canopy on the gazebo before it snows?
Nate: I will get to it next weekend, I am too tired to do it now.
Me: Are you sure?
Nate: Ya, it's too early to get any snow.
Me: Okie Dokie....(I was totally giggling inside...hoping I would get a new gazebo in the spring anyway. Kinda like when you hear it is going to hail and you park your car in the most wide open space hoping for baseball size hail stones to rain down on your car because you totally want a new one...)
Two day later
Nate: So, Have you been outside yet?
Me: No...(giggling in my head had begun again...It's frickin' 7:30 AM, are you kidding me?! I looked out the window and knew how much snow had fallen. I WAS NOT going to let the dogs out. They could wait for you to get home.)...why? (playing dumb)
Nate: I guess I should have taken down the gazebo last weekend.
SO yes, the gazebo collapsed into a hefty pile of twisted metal and snow.
Fast forward to 2 weeks before Memorial Day weekend. Sitting in the hot sun on a cement patio with NO shade.
Me: Sure would be nice to have that gazebo about now...HUH?!?
Nate: Shutup.
Memorial Day weekend we spent shopping for wood, screws, and a whole lotta canvas. Because Nate says "If we are going to put anything there, it is going to be permanent." Nuff said.
The Before and after pictures. And what is really nice...I can slide the canvas to one side or the other. Notice it is hanging lower on one side...to block the sun when it is coming through that side. Ya, I. Am. A. GENIUS. Nuff said.

  1. I was hoping to hear the gnome story in there too! Also, a picture of his broken foot!
